DC/Geoff Johns ripping off Alan Moore again?

Postby Juan Cena » Tue Apr 17, 2012 5:12 pm

I understand that DC Comics are planning an “event” next year, entitled The Trinity War. Presumably referring to Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman. Whether that’s a battle between the three of them, or a battle between them and everyone else, I don’t know. I’m sure it’s much more than that, but it does sound like it’s setting the scene for a very different take on the characters within the New DCU.

Can you say Alan Moore's "Twilight?"

Moore's idea is much more massive in scope and tone. Given the complete lack of details on this so far, it's speculation at absolute best that it would resemble Moore's plot.

Yet another Trinity series from DC.

I have to say, I am really beginning to think that Geoff Johns has been replaced by a Skrull or a Body Snatcher.

It sounds, based solely on the title, like it might be more of a Civil War ripoff. :smt102

that is right where I was going with it. A Three-Way Civil War.

Kingdom Come was essentially DC's version of Twilight. We have no idea what's coming or what the title even is. I'll wait till concrete info emerges.

Nah, a Skrull or Body Snatcher could've written the first seven issues of Justice League better.

Can you say "Nacireman has the title of the pitch wrong in the first place and is finding drama where there isn't"

Twilight of the gods features an extremely rape tastic marvel family, an almost evil Superman and an extremely heavy focus on John Constantine.

I can definitely say without a shadow of a doubt, that this will happen here. :smt011

Can you say that the guy correcting Nacierman has the title of the pitch wrong and is trying to correct someone with false information?

Twilight of the Gods was an opera that gave the inspiration for the title Moore actually used. Twilight of the Superheroes was the title of Moore's pitch.

I seem to remember it being referred to as just "Twilight" when I first heard about it, but that was ages ago.

Anyway, Moore's story was the first thing that came to mind when I first read what Bleeding Cool wrote about it. Let's face it, DC/Johns has made it a cottage industry mining Moore's stuff in the past few years.

Alan Moore invented heroes fighting each other.
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.
