After getting the chance to know him when I invited him on the podcast about 7 months ago now I think, I've really grown to like Chris as both a person and a writer.

Chris is an awesome writer and one I can't wait to see what he does next.

Kirkman/Layman/Spencer/Rossmo and the other people working on some of the bigger indie books at Image were all household recognizable names before launching their books?

Roberson's projects will sell incredibly well.

Saying that he's not a household name/wont sell for "burning bridges" is kind of idiotic.

It's the classic definition of "ignorance". I am not saying you are all ignorant people, using the modern way of insulting someone--I am saying this thread was off on a crazy train of ignorant speculation and, worse, presumption, about this man's career.

He's saying he'll never work at the two biggest companies because they are evil, and definitely saying that about DC while maybe just implying it about Marvel.

While some people have done well in comics without working there, many others haven't.

And most people just said he wasn't a big name in comics before working for DC and wasn't well known, not that he wasn't successful or didn't have ways of making money outside of comics.

To say he'll definitely succeed in comics without DC or Marvel is impossible to prove. To say that he isn't burning bridges by saying DC is filled with backstabbing assholes is just dumb, there's no way comments like that won't piss off some people there (and at Marvel). And to talk like a condescending asshole and call people ignorant is clearly going to be met with less than positive reactions.

He didn't actually elaborate or say people at DC were backstabbing assholes though. :wink:

He just said he was leaving and linked to a Comicsalliance post about the before watchmen stuff.

Except for his tweets where he said people were being backstabbing and dishonest and said he wished the Legion was owned by a more ethical company.

Certain posters in this thread are elitist assholes with horrible opinions on things.

But that isn't directed at anyone, I'm speaking in the abstract. Please don't take that personally.
