The dice is always in favor of the CPU and on one game where against all odds I'd finally controlled 3/4 of the board....I was sent to jail 4 times without passing GO while the CPU built one hotel and every time I'd get out of jail I'd land on that and then go back to jail in an cycle of 4 times forcing me near bankruptcy.

And that was my best round.

The Computer Is A Cheating Bastard!!

Most versions of electronic Monopoly will use this as a fake difficulty depending on what the ai difficulty is set at, most Monopoly games are meant to have smarter AI that makes better investment decisions when the AI is increased but most also increase the AIs luck when rolling and getting chance cards. As a result it's not uncommon for the AI to never get a negative card during the game and always skip past human players properties, but the harder the AI is set at the more likely it is that the computer will sabotage human dice rolls and make sure the human lands on tax or high value owned property turn after turn.

But.....Monopoly is a game of chance. Not a game where the probability of the dice is shifted totally against you.

'Diablo 3' beta opens its doors wide open, all weekend long

Despite the eagerly anticipated release of "Diablo 3" being less than a month away (May 15), demand among diehard fans for beta access is still quite high.

So the game's developer and publisher, Blizzard Entertainment, is sure to make everyone's weekend a good one, because it's opening up access to all players, provided that they have a Battle.net account.

The open beta weekend kicks off in just a few, at 12:01pm PDT today. It's primarily designed to be a stress test for the game and Blizzard's servers, for the next three days.

Interesting how late they announced this. I knew it was coming for Japan but it's new that the presentation is also coming for USA and Europe. Last one was great... for Japan. Pretty lame for USA announcements.

Japan's Nintendo Direct was kind o f disappointing. Nothing really new, though they showed a couple of Pokemon related things I don't remember seeing before. They announced a Kirby 20th anniversary collection and a New Super Mario 2 game.

SURPRISINGLY (though Nintendo of America sucks for not making a video, that was REALLY disappointing), announced the Kirby collection for Wii and the New Super Mario Bros 2 for USA release (August).

I was happiest that they announced folder organization for the 3DS.

BOOT HILL HEROES, a spiritual successor to EARTHBOUND with 1-4 player drop-in/drop-out co-op, seeks funding for an original soundtrack, offers some pretty amazing rewards... I pledged $50 to be an NPC. They'll also swap your free Windows version of the game for an XBLA version of the game, if you prefer, but you gotta be in the first 50.

Just got the Devil May Cry remastered HD collection. The restoration is nice (not brilliant though) save for one big issue which I also had with the God of War collection: the FMV's are not remastered at all which makes for some jarring moments. You never know if the cutscene about to come up is FMV or engine-based.

Nintendo Plans Full Digital Downloads For 3DS and Wii U

Nintendo is taking the great plunge into full digital game distribution. While the company has previously offered smaller games for Wii, DS and 3DS as digital downloads, starting this Fall it will begin offering simultaneous day-in digital download versions of full retail titles.

The first game to be offered in both package and digital form will be New Super Mario Bros. 2, which launches in August.
