I understand what you're saying. I was just pointing out if it had been Cap, Thor or Iron Man then the outcry would have been greater.

but that would never happen. Why kill potential sequels to those movie or potential spinoff movies if it was Widow or Hawkeye?

Exactly. Still wish it had been a certain character that everybody hates.

I hate the comics version of Maria Hill as much as the next person, in fact, I probably hate the character more than the next person and this also extends to the version of her running around the Avengers animated series...but to be fair, we really haven't seen much of her character in the movie. I am holding out hope that they won't make her as unbearably unlikable in the movie as they have everywhere else they have shoehorned her. If she storms into the bridge of the Helicarrier and tells Nick Fury that she thinks the Avengers are a bad idea and that each of these superheroes should register with the government...then, I will hate her. However, I will give the movie version of the character a chance because I want this movie to be good and I don't want to immediately hate a character.

What would be the point in killing someone everyone hates? And even in that case, only the comic-version.. since as Sakie said, we haven't even seen the movie version. THAT is what no one would care about.. especially people who don't read the comics, and would be introduced to her in the same movie she's killed in. That would be a waste of time.

plus
keeping Hill alive seeds the potential for Civil War, since in the comics and on the cartoon she's the one who pushed for every here to register. There is story potential for her. They do something like Secret War and Fury gets fired, she takes over for SHIELD and instead of the heroes working for SHIELD she hunts them down. There is far more story potenital for Maria Hill than Agent Coulson in my opinion

And that would be the place where I jump off the train.
I have absolutely no interest in seeing Civil War replayed on the big screen...especially since it looks like we are going to be getting it on the small screen with the Avengers animated series. I have enough heroes fighting other heroes in the comics. I have been waiting my entire life to see something like the Avengers on the big screen and I would prefer to see the Avengers fight Ultron, Thanos, Zemo and the Masters of Evil, or a hundred other villains before watching them senselessly beat the crap out of each other.

It's a staple of comic book fiction though.

I don't expect we'll see Civil War in the movies.
It's too big, and would require a much bigger world of characters.
Even assuming we get an Ant Man, or Iron Fist, or a Doctor Strange movie or something between now and Avengers 2, or Avengers 3.. that's still not really enough to do the story justice.
The whole point of Civil War was the superhero registration act, and in the movies.. everyone knows Iron Man is Tony Stark. Everyone knows Captain America is Steve Rogers. Everyone knows Thor is a demigod.
Too few characters, and none of their identities are secret.

i'm not saying they will, but if they want to they'd kind of need her.. plus if she's anything like she is in the comics, she'll make a good foil for Fury and Stark... and i honestly don't see Joss killing her. He likes to kill "beloved" characters, not random characters (which to movie audiences right now Maria is)

Still have a picture of that dragon eating her in my head. It would be like a scene from Jurassic Park which I love by the way.

I think of her as Regina George from Mean Girls who got hit by that bus at the end of the movie-which was one of the best parts of that flick.

No-just no. That was one of the worst stories in Marvel history from where I stand. I can see it as a videogame but not a movie.

Agreed. That story left a bad taste in my mouth and I could do without it on the big screen.
