You're deliberately searching out average paragraphs from a website which has Avengers down as a very very good movie in order to prove your point.

Jon, most people have loved this movie. It's a fantastic movie. Why are you always so determined to change people's minds?
You don't have to like me
You don't have to respect me
But you will LISTEN to me.

Duh... Seriously, duh...

Of course I was looking for stuff that lined up with my argument. These were all people that felt similar to me and still gave the movie a positive review. I believe Holland was the one that trotted out Rotten Tomatoes earlier and saying that the 96% rating somehow "proved" me wrong. When in fact you can like the movie, and not think it's the greatest thing ever created.

Hahahahahahahaha...

Let's see. It's been asserted twice at least that I must be insane for even thinking that this isn't the greatest superhero movie ever made. So let me ask you, why can't you (and others) just accept that I think it's a fun movie, but not perfect or amazing or the best superhero film ever? Why the need to "disprove" my assertion, if that were even possible?

I don't even dislike the movie. I would recommend it (and have) to many people.

But this fanboy overreaction? Damn. And you guys bitch about that Kevin Smith show...

Actually, I had brought that up before we even got into this debate. But feel free to keep moving the goal posts of your argument with every post! :D

Holland Oats wrote:This is currently at 97% on RT.

For comparison's sake:

Iron Man: 94%
The Dark Knight: 94%
Spider-Man 2: 93%
Spider-Man: 90%
X2 X-Men United: 87%
X-Men First Class: 87%
Batman Begins: 84%
Captain America: 79%
X-Men: 79%
Superman Returns: 77%
Thor: 77%
Iron Man 2: 74%
Incredible Hulk: 66%
Hulk: 62%

Long story short.. this is going to be a commercial, and critical monster.

Don't worry, you'll see it soon enough, and you'll know the truth despite your protests.

You really think that Chris won't like it? I can 'accept' that you don't like it but surely you're not saying that OH posters generally will agree with you?

How long until Salwen compares the Avengers to the Star Wars Prequels?

I am tempted to watch a cam copy. I want to so bad. But I've held out so far.

If that's your only way to see it.

But it really is worth trying to catch on the big screen, and hopefully in high-def.

He'll never admit it, especially not after defending it so vehemently without even seeing it. But deep down, we'll both know the truth.

Fieldy generally agreed with me.:P I said that I would give the movie a 7.5-8 from a fanboy perspective. :-D

"WhIle the film had large chunks of fanservice, the packed theater I was in loved it despite most of them not being comic fans. It was the mix of the over the top comic sensibilities and enough humor infused in there that seemed to sell them on it through the awkward moments of the minimal plot until the final battle that personally delivered for me despite the awkward movements of the aliens.

Regardless of clearly catering to comic fans, this will definitely be a monster smash with repeat value for anyone from fanboys to action movie fans to people who want to see a fun movie to little kids who practically teemed over the characters despite me being 99.99999999999999999% sure they don't read the comics these characters are based on.

I'd have personally given it a 7.5-7.9 though (just shy of 8). Not perfect or deep by any means but definitely the most fun comic book movie I've watched."

For me no, but my wife...yes. I still might go with a friend while leaving the ladies at home.
