You don't need to argue with Punchy to get him to love Community, you just have to stop watching it and talking about it. It was brilliant when no one was watching it and now a show like Happy Endings is better.

I've only seen one episode of Happy Endings and it was enough to make sure that I never gave it a second shot, sorry but it sucked.

Are you saying I'm being some kind of sitcom hipster? I liked pretty much every episode of Community until the second Paintball story, and since then it's gotten more gimmicky, or more precisely, the gimmicks come first and the comedy comes second.

I still like the show, in fact I said I liked this episode, I just didn't think the Ken Burns parody was done in a very funny way. Is that a crime?

Just like Parks and Rec, it took a while to get going, but the back half of Season 1 and the entire of Season 2 were comedy gold.

the second paintball story was brilliant though.

But the gimmicks seem to have come on a lot stronger this season, 3 out of the last four episodes have been gimmicks, and while they were all good, it seems like a bad choice to bunch them so closely together. We haven't seen these characters act like their normal selves since the retarded carny episode.

The second paintball story was OK, but I didn't like it as much as the first one because it wasn't new anymore. It's hard for the show to claim to be innovative when it's going back to the well with it's gimmicks.

And exactly, there are too many gimmick episodes now. The Goodfellas parody and the first paintball ep worked because they were unexpected, now almost every other episode is a very specific parody.

Community is smart TV but sometimes it beats you over the head with how smart it is. Its been doing that a lot this season.

I thought the ability of Community to use something like Paintball 2 and still give us something innovative and new is a testament to how good the show is.

Yes, the basic premise is the same in that they are playing paintball. But the episodes are radically different. It's like saying every episode that takes place at the college is the same because they're just attending Community College. Damn, haven't they gotten over such a tired concept by now? :-D

Following its recent rise in the ratings, NBC is putting some major faith into Community.

The network has moved the struggling sitcom's season finale to May sweeps — May 17 to be exact — and added another new episode to precede the hour-long back-to-back episodes that make up the finale, The Futon Critic reports.

This means that three new episodes of Community will air on May 17 — at 8/7c, 9/8c and 9:30/8:30c, bookending the Season 6 finale of 30 Rock at 8:30/7:30c.

The move is bad news for NBC's struggling drama, Awake, which had a two-hour finale scheduled to start at 9/8c on May 17. That two-hour finale has now been pushed to the following week, May 24, the day after the sweeps period ends.

Are you ready to get your Community overload on May 17?
