And did it in the most antagonistic way possible...

And Cos said "Eat it, Grampa!" more in a moment of resignation and frustration, as opposed to doing it in a antagonistic way.

It's still not something a REAL Cosmic Boy would say...

And you killed another hooker.

And That's Terrible... :P

Some were obviously more antagonistic than others.

If a "REAL" Cosmic Boy is a cardboard cutout of a character then give me the fake one. Threeboot Cos was definitely a more complex character than "REAL" Cos, as his struggles to keep the team in line while trying to remain true to his goals and principles.

The irony of the Threeboot was that it acted more like "real" people than the actual "REAL" Legion did.

Ah, and now you're using the standard-issue argument of the DiDio-era fanboy: The Darker and Edgier version is a "more complex" character, because he's Darker and Edgier.

Save it for the Billy Batson debate, pal.
Oops, you're not Ntikrst... though you sure sound like him now.

No, I'm saying TB Cos was more complex than the Archie Legion or neo-Classic Cos because he actually was more complex.

The way Levitz has written the characters lately is just flat and dull. Character development just seems out the window right now. And when a swerve comes like Shady and Earth Man, it just seems more contrived than natural.

There are always exceptions.

"Cat-Scratch is Liefeld good" for instance. Pretty accurate.

Owich, there's no need for profanities!

I prefer Johns' Billy Batson to DC's doe eyed eunuch from past incarnations because Johns' take is closer to Fawcett's. Captain Marvel used to kill his enemies without remorse, and when people looked at Billy sideways, he'd pop them one in the nose.

But that's it, I ain't no Didio-era fanboy! I can think of several labels I'd rather be saddled with than that; Sex offender, Holocaust denier, Baby Boomer, Soccer Mom, Deadbeat Dad to name a few, anything but Didio-era fanboy!

You take that back!

That just made me laugh.

Wouldn't be funny to use other people's last names as adjectives?

Like "Rotten food tastes like Liefeld".

BTW, here are the Legion: SO numbers.

131 - LEGION: SECRET ORIGIN
10/2011: Secret Origin #1 of 6 -- 38,248
11/2011: Secret Origin #2 of 6 -- 22,435 (-41.3%)
12/2011: Secret Origin #3 of 6 -- 20,033 (-10.7%)
01/2012: Secret Origin #4 of 6 -- 16,585 (-17.2%)
02/2012: Secret Origin #5 of 6 -- 15,310 (- 7.7%)

Well, it's a Legion spin-off.

Total, total flop. Both commercially and creatively.

I don't really care about commercial failure, but creative failure is simply inexcusable.

To be honest, some of the GA Captain Marvel stories I've read were a little dark.
