Detroit Tigers slugger Delmon Young faces judge over 'f-ing Jews' attack; free on $5,000 bail

Detroit Tigers slugger Delmon Young went on a drunken, anti-Semetic rampage outside a posh Manhattan hotel early this morning — shouting “F-ing Jews” to a group of tourists before throwing one to the ground, sources said.

The $6.5 million outfielder was so drunk that he had to be hospitalized after his arrest.
Young directed his rage on four men who were in town for a bachelor party when he saw them talking to a yarmulke-and-Star of David-wearing pan handler outside the Hilton Hotel on Sixth Avenue at 2:40 a.m.

This is the same guy that threw a bat at an umpire a few years ago. The guy has some issues.

Yeah, same here. I figured that he was up for a monster year hitting in the same lineup as Cabrera and Fielder. Oops. Good thing Bryce Harper was available for me.

I'm glad the Twins got rid of them when they did.

Would have hated to see both a Twin and Viking arrested for assault on the same weekend. :lol:

(granted yeah he wouldn't have been in NY, so it probably wouldn't have happened, but still...)

I remember reading a story on ESPN about him after he got into a huge fight with umps or something in the minors and it seemed like he was a seething cauldron of rage!

How many pro sport atheletes are actually from the city they play for?

The point is he was representing the Tigers at the time, and Detroit as well. Sadly this kind of behavior isn't out of the norm for that cespool.
