Well i've been reading up a bunch on the Phoenix Force/Jean Grey.. and the last time the phoenix was around (Phoenix Endsong) Jean declared that she and the Phoenix force are truly one entity now, have transcended into the White Phoenix of the Crown.

So it would make sense for Jean to come back...

I hope not. I've never liked her.

Except that everyone has completely forgotten/discounted all those Phoenix minis...

Exactly. Sometimes a story telling decision moves us and we don't want to see it all undone. Bringing her back the last time was a huge mistake.

Okay, I get it. And I'm still not thrilled with Barry being back. I really can't stand the way Johns writes him in JL at all. It's like half the time he sounds like Barry and the other half he's sounding like Wally. MAKE UP YOUR MIND JOHNS!

But Jean has been considered a character of rebirth since the 1980's. There IS a reason for her to come back. Her first "death" was needed and made a huge impact. Had she stayed dead I would be in the camp of "keep her dead" as well, but since she's already come back once... then let's keep the tradition alive!

That's way too bad because she always had nice things to say about you. :-(

I think my biggest reasoning behind my guess is that with all the moving around of the "architects" this fall, we're highly likely to see someone big settle in for an extended x-run. I think you bring back Jean in Uncanny X-Men during a high quality run like that, not in an event. Events are for setting up sweeping changes for the whole line and marking a place to launch new books out of.

Who agrees with me?

As much as I wish this was so, alas, I fear that we will NOT see Jean Grey return this summer or anytime soon.

I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

Wasn't a judgement call. I haven't read Gillen's x-work. I think he's a good writer. I also think it's pretty clear that Marvel is much more behind Aaron's book in terms of publicity/etc, so I doubt he'll have much to do with it.

If Jean does come back, I want Aaron or Hickman to handle it. :smt026 :smt026 :smt026
