Young Justice was worse than the Hank Pym wifebeating dark spiral of depression: it was teen angst. Badly written teen angst and "grown ups just dont understand" spiele that came off like your typical soap opera scripting that just happened to star some known teen sidekicks.
It's fucking painful and only gets love here for starring known characters.
You sound like someone that only watched the first episode of the show.
If anything, the show is anything but a "grown ups don't understand" show. It has Batman in a much cooler role than he ever displays in the DCU. It shows that he cares for all these kids and he trusts them. He lets them resolve their own problems and is actually supportive. His interactions with Aqualad, his disappointment with Superman at the treatment of Superboy are all well done.
Red Tornado is also well done as we find out he's also there because it helps him become more human, and that it's a test for him.
Black Canary and here role as trainer was great.
So go off on all the teen angst you want, but you could lob such nitpicks at the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra as well and those are also fantastic shows. Again, Avengers and YJ are both great shows. You don't have to destroy one to like the other. YOu could (I know this is crazy) enjoy them both.
