I'm not buying them, I don't like Watchmen that much but I am curious and they have good creators. I'd rather they were working on something I'd be more interested in, especially Amanda Conner and Jae Lee. :smt102

Same here. I'll probably pick up the Adam Hughes Dr. Manhattan book too.

Never was a fan of Watchmen aside from it just being a cool comic and hopefully I will dig these books for more than just the art.

Not buying it.

With not nearly enough exceptions, deconstructions are depressing, and have a bloated sense of importance and an annoying pretense of "maturity" just because they're Grim and Gritty. Watchmen is NOT an exception, and given that these creators are reportedly out to outdo the original, they are only going to be even MORE pretentious and misery-laden, if that's possible.

Superhero deconstructions in particular seem pointless to me. Superheroes are SUPPOSED to be fantastical; you don't have to drag them through the mud to show me how "They wouldn't work that way in real life!!" :roll:

I can see some people "supporting" Alan Moore by avoiding these books. As if buying them will support DC's treatment of him. And by treatment, I mean allegedly screwing him out of any copyrights to the characters.

But these creators have, to my knowledge, nothing but respect for Moore. And if they can do the characters justice, why not? Otherwise, DC will find anyone else they can to do these books.

I don't think buying these books will be like saying "fuck you" to Alan Moore. Likewise, not buying them won't be saying the same to DC. I may wait for the trades and see if they're worth it then.
