This is why he's so horrible at DC; the DCU isn't supposed to be Whiny, Piss-Poor Excuse for a "Hero" Central. You're supposed to look UP at the DC protagonists, not down on them. They're not meant to be "Hated and feared by a world they've sworn to protect!" And the Justice League isn't supposed to be a motley crew of obnoxious jerks. But that's exactly what we're getting out of Dan's utterly Marvelized DCnU. We can't even have a noble Superman or an upbeat Billy Batson/Captain Marvel anymore; they both have to be dragged through the mud so that some readers can find them "relatable!" in the Mighty Marvel Manner.

Disney should approach Dan immediately and ask, "When can you start??"

Funny enough does anyone remember that story in Dark Reign where a piece of the Void got into Cyclop's psyche? Maybe they could state that the Void is the main reason why Scott is such douche now and that the Void only wants the Phoenix to help it bring back the Sentry. I don't think the writers will head in this direction but that would also be a good explanation for Scott's recent actions.

If anyone remembers Didio's god awful run on the Outsiders 2 years ago when he made Geo-Force into a douchebag and turned him against most of his team-mates? I think it's ironic that Cyclops is being portrayed in that same light during that Schism crap up till now.

Sigh. And everyone still talks about how great that series is.
Truthfully, any of us could pitch that sort of story. His green arrow arc before this was a good story. Ic? Meh. It's a rape story.
It's a use all these characters wrote and built up and rape and kill them
That doesn't take much talent. Anyone can write for shock
Only, you eventually run our of characters to kill for shock value

Again, I expect Marvel heroes to embody the worst aspects of humanity.
But the DC heroes were created to embody the BEST aspects of humanity.

In this case, one of the things that made Geo-Force stand out was his gallantry and courteousness, as befits a man of royal upbringing. But, as usual in the DiDio era, we can't have that sort of honorableness in our heroes, so Dan personally turned a perfectly viable Prince Valiant into a pitiful Douche of York. :roll:
