Seeing as the purpose is to bring in new/bring back lapsed readers none of us are the target audience for FCBD anyway.

Yeah and you are limited to what your LCS orders and in those cases it is the more mainstream titles. I cannot see many of the HC on the shelves for free.

I think FCBD exposes existing readers to new things we might not otherwise try, so it's perfectly legit. In that regard, paying for the FCBD offerings is like these $.25 teaser comics they sometimes sell so maybe you're right.

BK, I would love to know what you think of the Valiant preview. I am irrationally excited about that one. The Valiant characters are probably my favorite characters. I would love to see new Shadowman and Etermal Warrior comics too. But ONLY if they're good, which I suspect is a big, big if. Still, they have some very good creators attached to the books. I hope they all stick...

It's a group of page reprints of #151 to #154, to make a single story summary and then they promo #155 and the new Reprint.
Yeah, is just as bad as they were in their original format.

Got my box:
Amazing Spider-Man: Hooky #1
Amazing Spider-man #683 & #684
Captain America #10
Daredevil #10.1 & #11
Action Comics #8
Batman #8
Batwoman #8
I, Vampire #8
Justice League #8
Justice League Dark #8
Justice League International #8
Swamp Thing #8
Fairest #2
New Deadwardians #2
iZombie #24
The Unwritten #36
Preliminary thoughts: anyone who wants to read a proper super-hero book really needs to have picked up Hooky. Aside from the gorgeous Berni Wrightson art, the story is a lot of fun and takes more than five minutes to read. All for $4.99, which is pretty good value.
