No. I had the 80 gb backwards compatible one that I bought used. Still works. Sold it to my roommate when I ran out of hard drive space. Got a new 320 gb that hasn't ever given me a problem.

The Xbox 360 and PS3 have lives that are about 3 years long and my SNES and Sega Genesis still work as good as the day I got them.

Your ok. The issue is new accounts created and then they try to sell their stuff and that is the only reason they join up. You on the otherhand are well established.
