It has potential. Not my favorite first issue ever but I can say it was one of the stronger 52 #1 issues to be released, even with all my criticism.

Boy Chimney.

Creepiest thing to not come out of Japan in a long time, or creepiest thing to not come out of Japan, period?

(Creepy awesome, of course.)

... He looks more like the Shade fucked Jack Skellington, and then had a really problematic pregnancy.

Dial H for hackneyed.

Another lucky loser has been awarded ultimate power and he tries to do the right thing. His world is dirty and drab, his villains are thugs and after skimming through once, I have zero desire to read it again.

The art is passable, designs and locations are derivative and the palette is bland. This is a real color by numbers effort to play it safe with all the major feet of clay troupes we would expect from an old Spider-man comic.

Overall a complete waste of time, both the reader's and the creative staff. This kind of shite should never see the light of day. DC's editorial needs a reboot.

0/10.

I think I would like to start a troupe called The Feet Of Clay.

We would all play homemade theremins or something, maybe dose the audience with psilocybin just for good measure.

Buncha cuntrags in this thread, except bkthompson and Zero.

This was great. Mieville is a great author, and this was a terrific debut issue for his first run at comics.

It was equal parts creepy, comedic, weird, and creepy again. So far, with the exception of JL Dark (which I hope turns around under Lemire) the whole "Vertigo" part of the New 52 has been great.

Just because we've been reading comic books for longer than 6 months is no reason to call us "cuntrags". Don't worry, you'll get there one day.

If you liked Dial "H" so much, check this out.

So in order to like this you have to have only been reading comics for 6 months?

:smt011 freaking new people.

My review is coming, but I'm clearly on the side that enjoyed this.

I like it when people start calling each other names in a Review Group thread, feels like old times. 8)
