The Avengers 9:30 am Friday. Is it safe to bring a baby?

Postby guitarsmashley » Thu May 03, 2012 2:51 pm

Ashley really wants to see the Avengers this weekend. Is it safe to bring a 3 week old to the movies at 9:30 am on opening day? I mean she'll have already been awake for a while so she would fall asleep in the car and probably fall back asleep once ashley puts a tit in her mouth. How many people are that apt to go to a 9:30 am movie? It's not like we'd be going to the 7:00pm or midnight showing.

If you are willing to risk being the jackass who brings the baby to the theater, than I think you really shouldn't care what any of us have to say.

Go, do your thing.

As long as you leave if the baby starts makin' a fuss, it should be cool. I don't mind babies in the theatre, what pisses me off is when the parents won't take the crying baby out of the theatre when they start acting up.

oh yeah, I'd take her out and walk her around no problem the question really is how many people can we really expect to be at the theater at 9:30 in the morning?

I know a bunch of folks taking tomorrow off to see the movie. I would expect quite a few folks the first few days.
I think this thing is gonna be huge. Like Star Wars in 1977 HUGE.

I'm seeing it at midnight tonight and I will more than likely, be there agin for the first show in the morning too.

I watched a butt cam copy already so I have no problem taking her out the theater and even pacing in the entrance if that gets her to stay quiet. We'll keep an eye on how she behaves come morning.

There is also a 9 am at the theater down the street from the one with a 9:30.

Go for it. Sit on the aisle and close to the door so you can scoot the rugrat outside if needed.

Bought my 9:00 am tickets since they were only $5. And will leave the theater anytime baby girl starts screaming.

Dude, that would be a complete dick move unless your baby never cries (which isn't possible)

Just think about when you go to the movies & any number of other people are there, whispering behind you, straight up carrying on conversations during the movie and/or effing around with their cell phones in front of you the entire time doing God knows what. My guess is that it bothers the piss out of you whether it's opening day or 4 weeks after initial release.

You want to bring your 3 week old baby to the biggest movie of the year on opening day and you're a member of this site? Wow :smt017

I can't believe people think that would be cool. I'd honestly be the first person to come straight up to you and tell you to leave if your baby cried once and if you refused I'd get management involved.

I wouldn't do it. You're going to have to take your daughter out at some point (she WILL make a fuss) and I don't see the point of going to a movie if you're going to have to leave every few minutes to calm the baby down. It's also going to suck for the other theater patrons. Even if you take your daughter out when she starts crying, they are still going to have to deal with her intermittent crying no matter how fast you get her out of the theater.

The other thing to consider is noise levels. Babies can be pretty sensitive to sound, and the typical sound levels in a theater are likely to disturb her more than you might think. I seem to recall hearing that babies' ears are more sensitive to sound as well, but a cursory Google search didn't bring anything up. I'd still be leary of exposing her to the noise of a movie theater given her age.

No.

3 week olds shouldn't be in closed spaces with a lot of people.
