I think it's safe to say there won't be a lot of people at a 9 am showing on a work/school day.

You're going to have to take your daughter out at some point (she WILL make a fuss) and I don't see the point of going to a movie if you're going to have to leave every few minutes to calm the baby down. It's also going to suck for the other theater patrons. Even if you take your daughter out when she starts crying, they are still going to have to deal with her intermittent crying no matter how fast you get her out of the theater.

The other thing to consider is noise levels. Babies can be pretty sensitive to sound, and the typical sound levels in a theater are likely to disturb her more than you might think. I seem to recall hearing that babies' ears are more sensitive to sound as well, but a cursory Google search didn't bring anything up. I'd still be leary of exposing her to the noise of a movie theater given her age.

Babies that are between the age 0-1 should not be allowed inside a movie theater for health reasons. Babies have little ears and are very sensitive and movie theaters are very loud. A baby's tympanum, ear drum, is still developing at this young age and loud music or noises can damage the baby's tympanum permanently. The Parent(s) who have babies, age 0-1, should be looking out for the safety of their child. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that repeated exposure to loud noises has left 5.2 million American children with some degree of hearing loss.

It is an unconscionably bad, selfish decision to take a baby that age to a theater, and moreso a movie like The Avengers. :smt011

No.

No good for her ears, not good at all. The movie will be around if you can find a babysitter for a couple hours.

The ear damage is the best reason to not do any of this. Thanks to those that brought this up.

Ear damage and crying are two problems that can be easily fixed with duct tape.
