The Spidey stuff and action looks cool as hell. Love the web shooters inclusion.

I don't know that I like the focus on his parents and the fact that being Spider-Man was not an accident is at least being talked about there. To me, its important to the character that getting bit by a spider was an accident. The fact that his parents may have worked on the Spider or the science behind it is really hokey. But it is just a trailer and I'm sure I'll dig the movie

Also, skateboarding? Really?

This movie better bring it, coz I'm more hyped watching the expendables 2 trailer.
For some reason, I'm just tired of the emo-ish/teen angst vibe I'm getting from the trailer.
I'm getting a green lantern vibe from this movie where people are talking about captain america and xmen first class and green lantern fell by the wayside. Same thing as this, people are talking about avengers(it is glorious btw!) and dark knight, and nobody is talking about spiderman.

Having just seen it with the Avengers trailer. The kid who plays Spider-Man is good BUT.. we've been down this road TEN FREAKING YEARS AGO. Do we need to see this all over again his origin? The only thing that I like is the actor playing him, the Lizard, and the fact that MAYBE we get Norman in this. That is Norman grilling Curt on what Pete knows yes?

I do not think so. Look at 1:26 and even with the moon light the hair is blond. For all we know it could be Peter's father.

Agree I did not find it that obsurd but then again peter is supposed to be a little needy not sure how many of them skateboard.

All types of groups skate board. There's nerds and geeks that are regulars in the comic shop with boards.

The emo and teen angst stuff was always there with Spider-Man. It was only when he put on the costume that he got any sort of confidence in those early years, and we see that in the trailer as well with finally getting a jokey Spider-Man. Nothing out of character about that in the movie, IMO.

I don't know about a Green Lantern vibe.. people WERE talking about GL leading up to it - talking about how it would suck. I think there's more of a sense of optimism about this. Or there should be. It's odd because more non-comic fans I know are excited about this than comic fans, who seem to be too concerned with snouts and skateboards.

I would compare it more to X-Men First Class, though.

Two movies banking on a franchise name, but with entirely new casts.. I could see it doing the same type of numbers at the box office. Maybe a bit closer to $200M.

A huge comedown from what the Spider-Man movies tend to do, but given that it's a reboot, as long as Sony doesn't panic I think it should be good for this.
