The President is in town here for a "campus rally" today, but they had to shoot low for TV in the arena he's speaking in because they couldn't fill out the seating in the mid to upper rows. There's noticeably a lack of enthusiasm and grass roots support from the college crowd I see, in stark comparison to 4 years ago when Obama was all you heard about in the cafe and groups would meet almost daily organizing their support for his campaign then.

huh, he was in portland a few weeks ago and it was packed. where are you located?

It would be cool if we got a few years of healthily jaded youth instead of the painfully naive ones they were churning out in 2007, I guess.

He's at the Ohio State University today. To be fair, I'm guessing that he hasn't made 20 other visits to Portland ME like he has here (having lived in the North country previously myself). :lol:
