Ok, so I just got through Chapter 3 and am starting to dig it a bit more. The meeting between Eternity, the Watcher, and others was badass. Also, I love Thanos more and more as the series goes on. He's like Darkseid, but less cool and calculating.

You answered a question I had, prozacman. I think I was iffy on the first two issues because it all seemed like recap of something I hadn't read. Is Thanos' resurrection/search for the gems in Infinity Quest? Why isn't that collected in the Infinity Gauntlet trade then?

Also: I'll say that George Perez's compositions are fucking crazy in this. The full-page spread of the Warlock/Strange mindmeld was impressive. Not the greatest for logical story flow, but it looks awesome.

Infinity Gauntlet happened right after I started reading comic books. I skipped it, because I had no interest in it. I was too new to the Marvel Universe to understand the importance of it or whatever. I recently bought the trade and tried to read it, but, like the OP, I was unimpressed and bored after the first two issues or however much I read. I'll give it another shot after reading all the comments saying it gets better.

B/c that trade would be huge, and you really don't need it b/c it IS all recapped for you. The resurrection takes place over several issues in The at-that-time-ongoing 80s Silver Surfer series (by Starlin and Lim at that time) over several issues and the search for the gems was in Thanos Quest. I think there actually is a separate trade that collects at least the Surfer stuff, but I can't remember the name and may be wrong.

It's Silver Surfer: Return of Thanos I believe.

I'm ticked that they didn't include the Thanos Quest in the hardcover re-release. :x

Rebirth of Thanos, actually. I just looked it up. Marvel recently (2010) re-released it as one of their Premiere Classic HCs, and according to Amazon, Chesscub, Thanos Quest is included in that.

It is. I bought it in 2010.

I hadn't read the resurrection of Thanos before that and was always looking for a trade of Thanos Quest.

Just looked on eBay. The one direct market variant cover (which is what I've been getting on the Premiere Classics) is $70. :smt013

The Hulk/Wolverine conversation with Warlock was pretty great.

Quick question: what was happening in Hulk at this time? He seems to have his shit together significantly more than he ever did before.
