If they actually fix the shit game mechanics this could be pretty damn cool. I like that it appears you can run through buildings, that's new.

I would have prefered that they stick to Europe like in the last two games as running around and doing the rooftop thing just seems a lot more interesting with cities that have more of a history than any city in the 13 colonies would have had at this time. Setting it sometime during the Napoleonic Wars would have made for a great game I think.

Having said that, I am looking forward to this game. I've enjoyed the rest of the games in this series and I expect that this game won;t be an exception to that. :)

Thank you Troy for the sig

The ability to free-run through buildings and opens rooms is a welcome addition indeed.

But there's just something about this game that feels...I dunno...off. I can't really pin it down...

I kinda lost my interest in this franchise after AC2. I liked Ezio and he was a popular character, but I felt like his story was pretty much done. Time to move on to history's next great Assassin. But just so, I wonder that the franchise can survive on the back of a new character who is not Ezio. I mean, Ezio was responsible for really carrying the franchise. Altair was ratrher bland in comparison. And while it is necessary to the base premise of the series, I don't know if this new Assassin's character and personality will be a match for Ezio; if he can generate the love for the franchise that Ezio did.

I gotta admit sharing some of Bender's misgivings. The mechanics of the first two games were a big turn-off for me, and I was much more interested in the story than in playing the game. I'd like to see the story of the Assassins continue throughout history and into the future, but I'm not so enthusiastic about picking up the games to do so.

The biggest mind fuck would be if the player discovers in Assassins Creed 4 that we're not actually playing as Desmond in the Animus but as Desmond's ancestor from the future viewing Desmond viewing his ancestors through an advanced Animus and then you get to play as that character as an assassin in the future. Hidden laser blades and stealth suits FTW!!
