So far the dcnu superman has failed to impress anybody and the sales are dramatically falling accordingly. My guess is that the post-flashpoint superman is not really appealing because he is not dark enough.

So superman needs to be edgier. Superman has always had an edge to him and it is preferable if we see that edge more often, like superman being willing to kill his enemies like dcnu wonder woman. Making superman grittier will definitely result in more new readers of post-flashpoint superman.
Who do you think is best writer to bring out an edgy superman?

Supes never made the kind of the snotty comments like he did in Action #1 or #3 either. Like "be the cop you wanted to be when you were growing up" or whatever it was in #3. (I'm not in the mood to dig through the comic box this early, so that pretty much is a paraphrase.)

he's an all powerful alien alone (at least in Action) on a strange world he could take over in a day.

I'm surprised his social skills are as good as they are.

He's a new hero ~20 years old in Action trying to help out a vastly inferior people, he's self self-righteousness makes perfect sense. Hell, your what, 30+, and I've often wondered how your high horse survives considering how little rest you give it, and you can't even fly.

If people want to read a character who kills, like Wonder Woman, then why wouldn't they just read Wonder Woman? Why should Superman have to kill in order for a small amount of new readers to show interest in him?

If you want Darker and Edgier (as a reader or a creator), let Marvel accommodate you.

I believe Supes sells are reflecting that he is being written with no character. DC said that the DCnU would be a tabla rasa; problem with a clean slate is you now need to write something interesting.

What's wrong with that comment? The police in Metropolis at that time was corrupt, Superman is trying to stop that and one of the ways he's doing that is not only be beating them up and exposing the corruption, but also appealing to a sense of idealism that has been lost.

Being the cop you wanted to be when you were growing up is the same thing as 'truth justice and the american way'. Superman trying to lift everyone else up to be better.

But no, you want everyone to just suck up and give respect to every Policeman or Soldier or Fireman just because they wear a uniform.
