There is a big difference between 4 and 2 1/2 at that young an age.
At what point do you cut cord?
I would say at the point that the mother and/or child are ready to stop.

Christ, oogy. Get that kid off the tit.

A) It's really not my call
B) There's absolutely nothing wrong with.
The problem isn't with my wife and child, the problem is with everyone else.

You sound like kingbobb and his vaccination rationale...
No, it's odd.
Rationalize it all you want but this isn't Africa where some children have to breastfeed in order to survive, this is something else entirely (loss of intimacy with their mate or perversion).

Actually, oogy, this is your life and I'm not going to battle with you about it.
That's just my opinion.
I'll leave it at that.

Who...who are you?

Over a year ago, I went out with a single Mom with one kid who was basically one of these attachment moms whose husband had gnawed his own leg off, metaphorically speaking, to escape. Only for two dates (one with the kid along, yay!), by then it became clear she was nutballs (with or without the AP thing) and had quit her job to stay at home and was probably going to be a homeless attachment parent shortly.

Did she breastfeed the kid in the middle of the date?
Even if she didn't, you should add this to the story whenever you tell it in the future.

They went inside probably to the restroom or something in a public conservatory, while I sat outside trying to decide the ramifications of sprinting to my car.
Miraculously, a friend of mine showed up out of the blue at that exact instant with tokens for free beers they were selling outside there, so there was that.

that's insane.
I'm sorry but that's more about the mother than the child.

I'm not trying to say that everyone should breast feed for a set amount of time. I'm just saying that do whatever you feel is right for your family.
Weaning a kid from anything is a pain in the ass, but at a certain point you have to do it for his own good. You may spend a week getting little to no sleep while you try to get your son to stop breast feeding, but if you're patient then it will happen. Heck, I was up for an hour and a half dealing with my son last night, since he decided to throw a huge temper tantrum at 2am for no apparent reason.
EDIT: As GOSD said, it's your kid and your choice. I don't think your son is too old to breast feed necessarily, although my wife and I made a different choice.

A tired person.
Plus, I like oogy.
Now if it were LobsterJ (I know, he'd actually have to had sex with a girl first but...), I'd fight with him all day. Tired or not.

I don't really think she's all that hot to be honest, looks like your average white chick with no ass and small titties

Her attractiveness is the only good element in this whole issue.
