I used to know some people (in their mid-late 40s) who openly admitted that their high-school aged kids (males) would freely come into the bathroom when their mother was taking a bath or a shower to talk about random stuff and that it was apparently no big deal for mom to just be there stark naked in front of the kids while chatting

Rationalize it all you want but this isn't Africa where some children have to breastfeed in order to survive, this is something else entirely (loss of intimacy with their mate or perversion).

I read your next comment about not "battling me" on this and I appreciate it. I do however want to state afew things in regards to the bolded comment.

We are aware that we don't live in Africa, but this isn't done for survival. He's been eating the same things we eat since he started cutting teeth.

I don't feel as though there is a loss of intimacy between my wife and I. Our relationship is strong and we are quite happy.

As to the perversion, the only perversion I can see is from the people who see something wrong with this. It's a perfectly natural thing, and for fuck's sake, the boobs primary function is lactation.

There is nothing wrong with "extended" breast feeding. It causes no harm to either mother or child other than with people that it has no effect on that should be minding their own fucking business anyways.
