I want to purchase a digital copy of Iron Man. Am I better off getting it from iTunes or Amazon? WHat are the advantages to their two formats?
Apple goes out of their way to make their shit compatible only with other apple shut in the hopes that you will buy more apple shit. Disadvantage: pain if you don't own all apple shit. Advantage: apple shot is decent. Amazon on the other hand is more interested in you buying their content, so they don't care I'd you do it on a kindle or an iPad (as long as apple will let you watch it on an iPad). Advantage: more open use of the shit you pay for. Disadvantage: hardware not ad quality as apple (perhaps not relevant here).
Finally, both platforms are hampered by the fact that movie companies are still hanging onto the DRM model.
So basically, if you want to feel like you paid legitimately for it and still have a useful, worthwhile copy, go buy the Blu Ray and rip it yourself.
