This was actually a pretty fun read. I know of the Court of Owls although I'm not following the other Bat-titles but I didn't feel lost in this issue at all. Gail does a decent job of pulling the reader into the story with some very quick back-story, then drops us mid-action into the present as Batgirl faces off against a Talon. Twice. She explains what is necessary to follow along, tosses a few understandable references to other Bat-titles, gives us a history lesson from WWII ( 8) ), and ends with one big "uh oh" moment.
It was nice to finally have a good action issue without any of Barbara's insecurities or physical setbacks that we've seen in previous issues.

I suspected that Barbara's roommate was going to wind up being the Talon but a nice swerve says otherwise. That still leaves the mystery about Alysia left to solve also though.
