At least you didn't ask for a grizzly bear asap.

What about a Grizzly Bear/A$AP mash-up album?

Maybe you should start sending emails to Bitchfork to make it happen.

(yes, I called them that)

Sweet Tea by Buddy Guy. Awesome album from about ten years ago.

If you are a fan of the Chicago blues, it doesn't get better than this.

Here are my top rankings for the year so far:

El-P - Cancer 4 Cure 4/5 and it just pounds the shit out of your speakers.
Action Bronson - Blue Chips 4/5 I love the album, the rapper and the price: $0!
I Self Devine - The Sound of Low Class Amerika 3.5+ because it's growing on me.
Killer Mike - R.A.P. Music 3.5 I love this album but fear it will be the hipster hip hop pick of 2012.
Gangrene - Vodka & Ayahuasca 3/5 This album would be better if Alchemist didn't rap on every track but it's better than the last one.

Those are the only albums I care about this year so far.

Several albums were trying to be the "critical pop darling" last year.

But the more I listen to it, my shameful love of Adele and Gaga aside, I feel like Beyonce's 4 was quietly the most solid mainstream pop album released last year. I honestly can pinpoint a weak track on the CD. On every one of her albums, there's always a couple clunkers, but I love every track on 4.

The new Sleigh Bells album is pretty good. A lot more laid back than Treats, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your POV.

(For me, the crazy excess was kind of what made them interesting though ...)

Killer Mike's R.A.P. Music is pretty damn good.

Reagan's a particularly potent track.

Dawn Richard's Armor On EP is surprisingly good too. Didn't see that coming.

Yes, it is. My only worry is that it'll get hipster-jocked for the next two weeks.

Waiting on my deluxe vinyl package to be sent to me. That and the new El-P album.

Currently re-living Grade 9 with vinyl versions of Magnum Force by Heltah Skeltah and Doc's Da Name 2000 by Redman. I'LL BE DAT!
