So, I should review this book before I fold it up to fit into a letter-sized envelope (kidding).
Dan The Unharmable #1
Points for the cover magazine, which says "Outhouse", and for the Melvins. The gruesome opening gag with the detectives is hilariously atypical of the usual crime scene scenarios, everything about this book would make for great television if the right "Dan" was cast, maybe a sort of cross between The Dude and Rockford. The bit about the coed's sex tapes serves as a great introduction to the character and the obvious reasons for the title of the book without any boring exposition, which I thought Lapham handled deftly, and the gory scenes end-capping the issue hint at much darker days ahead for Dan The Unharmable that may test more than just his physical resilience.
No complaints about the artwork, I thought this was a great first issue.
