I think Wolverine is Forrest Gump.

"This is firmly set in continuity. This is not a What If. This is canon. This is key to Wolverine's history and his relationships with other characters. This will answer questions that have been out there for decades." -Nick Lowe

They mentioned Avengers 1959 in the liveblog but said there will be no tie in.
They also said there would be an appearance by "hobo" Sub-Mariner.

This is honestly some of the worst X-related art I've seen since Igor Kordey.

Not too crazy about another Wolverine book. Some of the other stuff sounds at least a little interesting. I'll have to think about it. I do like me some Gage...

The character that looks like Magneto is indeed Magneto, the other male (that's not Wolverine or Sabretooth) is Bomb, and the female is an as-yet unidentified new character.

OMG Wolverine is in it. I'm so surprised!

Sounds like X-Men: First Class, minus Charles Xavier, mashed up with Wolverine: Origins.
Is this going to conflict much with current continuity regarding Logan knowing Prof. X and Magneto years before they "met?" I'm not much of an X-Men buff.

Wonder how much of this is going to be the ground work for the Marvel Reboot/Retcon.

Meh
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.
