I'm not happy because of the helping poor people part, I'm happy he's screwing over a bunch of dicks who stood in the way of his project while endorsing housing development and housing development in the area.

Based on the article posted here, it doesn't exactly sound like he's going to turn it into a slum, but instead provide more affordable housing for people who work in the county but cannot afford to live there ($300k vs. $600k).

It also sounds like he's absolutely serious about it. So, a definite "fuck you" to his neighbors, but also something he is working to have happen that may very well benefit some people.

Most of the time when people pull a "fuck you" move, all it really does is provide a "fuck you" of varying degrees of efficacy, but little more than that. When you can perform a "fuck you" that not only fucks your chosen target, but also helps people your target probably doesn't like, then yeah, that's fuckin' cool.

I mean, who gives a shit about motivation when the end result is a beautifully orchestrated "fuck you" that actually provides someone with help.

Allow me to enlighten you. I think even Royce would agree that anyone that's willing to front the expense of running a business in SF, let alone thousands of people, shouldn't be classified as a "rich douche".

There is literally no big business in Marin, software or otherwise. This HOA is preventing thousands of jobs from flooding the area, which it desperately needs. Fuck those people.
