The frakin' Dominators again? I'm sick of the Dominators!

Really liking Portella (but he'd be even better with a stronger inker).

Is it Wednesday yet?

Well, he might be better than Cinar. But that's like saying a kick in the head's better than a kick in the groin.

Portella's art looks way too flat. There seems to not much of an attempt to make characters look alive, or in the case of the women, more sexier.

And his vision of Metropolis is straight generic sci-fi city. Would it really hurt if there were some standard cityscape surrounding Legion HQ with recurring and easily noticeable buildings that could be used to set later stories in? Like the UP or Earthgov HQ's or Science Police HQ or something?

And whoever thought Mon-El would look good if he were wearing what looks like chaps... :smt011

I like Mon'El's new costume but yeah his costume could be considered a bit "crotch-targeting" :-D

I agree, they should try a stronger Inker with Portela. Maybe someone who uses more shadowing and dark areas.

I'm good with where Legion is right now. Levitz is using the newer characters, integrating them into the team, while still throwing old-timers a bone by having the founders' story last issue.

And holy hell, is it ever awesome having Steve Lightle do pencils/covers, anything Legion-related, again. Wow.

And the colorist (at least from these preview pages) that uses less blue in the backgrounds.

And that's what I was afraid the "return" of the "classic" Legion would turn into - a giant nostalgia trip. Even with these "new" members, most of which were either characters introduced in the 80's (Comet Queen, Harmonia), or who harken back to older characters Chemical Kid.

Too bad his art in the last issue looked more Wendy Pini drew it.

No offense, Nacireman, because we all have our weaknesses, but I know the Legion's going in a direction I like when you don't like it.

Again, I wish there was some way everyone could have a version they like. But I'm so not apologizing for this being my turn. :-D :-D

Judging from a steep and steady decline in sales since the Nu52 faux-relaunch, I'd say not a lot of people liked it enough.

I don't pay attention to that stuff anymore; books last as long as the market supports. Worrying about it or rooting for it doesn't mean a book is good or bad. I read what I read, hope that when I pay for it, I like it.

Legion's not for everybody, and with the fanbase as splintered as it is -- there's a reason DC published "Legion of 3 Worlds," after all -- I don't have any expectations on how long this version will last. I'll simply enjoy it for as long as it does.

Well sadly, the market isn't supporting it.

94 - THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES
03/2007: --
03/2008: LoSH #40 -- 30,377
---------------------------------------
03/2011: LoSH #11 -- 23,667 (- 0.3%)
04/2011: LoSH #12 -- 23,419 (- 1.1%)
05/2011: LoSH #13 -- 23,105 (- 1.3%)
06/2011: LoSH #14 -- 22,600 (- 2.2%)
07/2011: LoSH #15 -- 21,788 (- 3.6%)
08/2011: LoSH #16 -- 21,373 (- 1.9%)
09/2011: LoSH #1 -- 50,402 (+135.8%) [58,325]
10/2011: LoSH #2 -- 47,227 (- 6.3%)
11/2011: LoSH #3 -- 34,979 (- 25.9%)
12/2011: LoSH #4 -- 27,832 (- 20.4%)
01/2012: LoSH #5 -- 25,624 (- 7.9%)
02/2012: LoSH #6 -- 23,428 (- 8.6%)
03/2012: LoSH #7 -- 21,894 (- 6.6%)
-----------------
6 months: - 56.6%
1 year : - 7.5%
5 years : - 27.9%

Two more “New 52″ titles that keep shedding readers. The six-month drop on Legion is particularly dire.

http://www.comicsbeat.com/2012/05/09/dc-comics-month-to-month-sales-march-2012/

And I'd say Lo3W had more to do with Johns than the Legion's shattered fanbase.
