Dark Knight Rises Poster Hints at Possible AvX Crossover

A fire will rise!

Has the Phoenix entity currently plaguing the Marvel Universe found a new host in Batman? Chances are slim, but in the meantime here's the newest Dark Knight Rises poster, featuring a fiery bird bat towering over a crumbling Gotham and Batman.

I remember there was someone who posted on the tumblr account outhouse runs, whatever they posted there went here.

Posted covers who drew, which were I found appropriate I guess. Then posted one bout how he went to an open mic night.

Had no relevance to what the OH should be.

I think this is along the same lines, tumblr posts bring loltron'd.

I could be wrong.

On that not, we should get a new "tron".

Loltron is news, previewtron is previews, and randomtron is this.

I told ThanosCopter to lay off some of the lighter blurb type stuff like this.

When ThanosCopter started, I told him/her to post around five or six "interesting" news articles today. I'll tell him/her that when there's slow news days (like today), he/she doesn't need to stretch to hit that "five to six" goal.

It's all a work in process. ThanosCopter (and the rest of the front page initiative) has been at this for less than a week. It takes some time to work out kinks and see what works and what doesn't.

Eh, depends on how long the increased input of the Front Page lasts.

Let's face it, with the exception of Jude and Super's multiyear quest to get the news out on time and Nightfly's soon to end column, there's very little in terms of consistent output. It seems silly to have Jude spend hours of coding for something that could be a flash in the pan.

I completely understand. As the Smash review proved, though, anything and everything helps the cause.

Hell, this fluff article got several hundred hits today. Apparently, AvX Batman is a popular search term.

While I do think that it's important there be actual news in the news articles, I think people are missing the point that this poster is being posted on blogs and sites everyone. I'm not sure why the commentary should bother anyone. There's a new Dark Knight poster - there it is. It just came out today. We could post the same thing as everyone else, or we could try to make joke. They won't all be winners.

As Blue said though, we're learning as we go. The initiative is under a week old. I can tell you that I actually have interest in checking for news stories and posting them here now, whereas for the past year at least I've begrudgingly checked the Outhouse press email on my lunch break and speed-posted the 7 or 8 press releases as quickly as possible because no one else would do it, and as a result, news was posted based on its convenience for me to post as opposed to whether it was actually interesting. Now, ThanosCopter and I are interested in doing it all day.

In the long run, this will be much better for the site and for my sanity. So feedback is appreciated, but also please try to be understanding.

I would also like it if others are interested in joining us as well. It doesn't have to be snarky, just not a boring copy/paste (See Zechs and GLX's articles for examples of non-snarky news items that would fit perfectly in the new initiative). PM me if you're interested.
