I thought this week was better than recent Raws but I'm still not looking forward to three hour Raw.

Flair can't be a manager or a commentator, because he can't stop himself from trying to get back in the ring again.

Alex Shelley is a shame since I was looking forward to another MCMG run.

Ric Flair....while he was a legend, he was more like a crazy old guy raving on about how he is a god (ala Ultimate Warrior).

Here's a massive dirt sheet column about how he's ended up:

I can understand Shelley not resigning. The MCMG are finally back and they've only had a couple of matches. Sucks for Sabin but he'll be a great opponent for Aries.

TNA is really better off without Flair.

Does he not remember the 83923 times they've fought each other? I mean, if Show was to turn on any face currently in the company, it wouldn't be too much of a shock since he's flip flopped from face to heel as much as just about anyone, but Cena in particular has to be on the short list of current faces he hates, right? Top 5 for certain. :smt102

Ace's scooter is fantastic.

Cena vs Show is just the definition of filler most of the time. Nothing against either guy, but it seems like whenever they can't think of something to do with Show and Cena, they just plop them into a feud for a month or two before moving Cena on to a new threat.

Still, this should be a fun storyline and Show really brought some great intensity to his promo. If he can keep this up, this could be some more great work from him after a few months of less than spectacular work following some of his best work of his career during the Henry/Show/Bryan stuff at the end of last year and early this year.

Cena's reaction to Otunga was great. Otunga having confidence in himself worked, even if we all knew how this would play out. I wish we'd get this Cena more often (as has been said many many times over the last few years). It was nice to see him not smiling during the match, or really at all after Show's promo. Good job of matching intensity.

Cena when he gets intense in the ring can be really fun to watch. I like the way he destroyed Otunga and held the hold on after the bell, something we haven't seen from him in a long time but that he was great at many years ago when he was more of an asshole.

The jobber attack was good, but it still feels odd to me to see Shamus saving guys like Cena or Orton. It just feels like not enough time has passed since their feuds and there's no real change to Shamus that should make him want to save certain guys, even if he's now a face. In fact, that's a lot of what I think works about the Orton/Shamus dynamic over the last couple weeks. They should attack each other, since they are both assholes. But whatever, it worked to set up the match they wanted for later and they want these two to be top faces of their respective shows so whatever.

A nice start to the show.

While I liked Otunga's bit in all this, I hate that the bad guys never have a chance of winning. It's almost impossible to cheer the good guys when things come so easy to them. :smt102

Same reason I dread when Vickie comes out to introduce Ziggler and Swagger, I just know they're going out there to lose. :-(

rdrsfn82 wrote:Punk and Bryan was probably great. Wish I had been able to watch it.

I'm glad that it ended in a way that will likely continue this feud going on for at least another month or two. I'd be totally fine with this lasting all summer. I loved how Bryan handled the Kane situation on Smackdown. Punk loses the match, and ends up getting killed by Kane. I always wonder why more heels don't do that sort of thing. Then Punk announced Bryan's opponent, and that was another fun moment as now Kane obviously knows what happened (another thing that drives me crazy is that guys never seem to watch the shows they appear on and never seem to solve these sorts of misunderstandings like this, even though they should). I also liked that Bryan didn't try to run away. They've done a great job of making him a total weasel while also making him not afraid of fighting anyone and getting right in the ring with basically all the giants. I mean, sure he tries to find the easy way out of things and tries to figure out ways to win that are underhanded, but he will still get in there and fight anyone if he doesn't have a better option.

Punk framing Bryan was an obvious but entertaining end ot the situation. And of course, Punk was very fun on commentary. And while taunting Bryan under the guise of checking on him and then putting him in a submission hold is not exactly face behavior, it works here as Bryan deserves shit like that since he's a total fucking weasel.

Good stuff, if not a good match. Which seems to be the theme tonight.

I liked Punk putting the submission after the attack. Cause even though he's a face it fits his character to be a bit of a dick. That's why I sort of dislike some of his promos, he comes off as too good. :smt102

That's why I liked him saying he tapped after he won on the PPV. It was at the same time so it's sort of dickish to say that.

I have no idea if they have the endgame planned for this, but the last few months have been fantastic. Punk being super awkward was entertaining. I really have no idea exactly where they will go with this in the end (and no idea if they know either), but it's been a great ride.

Her facial expressions are great. It'll be an interesting pairng, that's the third thing I can think of that Punk's taken after Bryan. :P

rdrsfn82 wrote:I wonder what they will do with Tensai going forward. He wasn't allowed ot help Ace on Sunday, he's not going after Punk any time soon, he's not going after Cena this month and the way they aren't using him I don't see how he could be a SummerSlam opponent for Cena (assuming they use Brock vs HHH there, I figured Cena vs Tensai would be a logical move for both guys if they made Tensai into a total monster over the next couple months).

Ziggler gets tossed around better than just about anyone. I could watch him get tossed from the ring every night for the rest of the year and not really get sick of it.

This match was obvious and predictable, but a good version of this kind of match despite that. Shocking that all the heels attacked the two faces.

Also shocking that the faces then came out to save the day. You never see things like that happen (also, it confirmed Christian as a face, since he was out there trying to save the good guys.

I liked how Cena used this as an excuse to go find Show and try to get revenge. No shock it ended poorly for him, though I liked the way they staged it where the viewer didn't see it coming any more than Cena did (and truth be told, Cole did a great job talking over it and then getting surprised halfway through a sentence).

Overall, I liked the show even if I don't think a single match ended with a pin or submission beyond the Christian match.

Cena/Tensai would be kind of a step down after Cena/Big Show. He's not much of a monster next to him. :smt102

While I can agree with the top 3 of Sting, Flair, Hogan the rest of the list is a complete fucking joke, seriously. Kevin Nash should in no way be listed anywhere near that high, Erich Bischoff shouldn't be on the list at all, neither should Dennis fucking Rodman! Dusty Rhodes isn't on the list at all, WTF!!

Other than Bischoff it's decent. I'd have Arn Anderson higher though.

I really liked Stunning Steve Austin.

Yeah, that's what I meant. When they had Tensai beat Cena I thought that maybe they were going to spend the next few months build him to be Ace's monster that he eventually sends after Cena at SummerSlam.

Then they went with Show, did nothing with Tensai for weeks, and it now seems like he'd be a big step down for Cena. I don't understand where they go from here with Tensai.

WWE should do a take off of the old Continental segment with Tom Pritchard, Dirty White Boy, and Dirty White Girl with Punk, Danielson, and AJ.
