I don't know enough about the subject but in mostly all movies that involve blowing up a plan with nukes that how they do it, as long as it's not triggered or heat from the explosion sets it off.

No, if there's an explosive charge, THAT might go off, but the nuclear reaction can't be started unless the bomb is armed deliberately...

I wasn't expecting it to come out on DVD/Blu Ray until November because with the way it's going it will probably still be showing theaters in August

Thats what I have heard as well.

That was my impression. I think I've read that Whedon didn't want to do a director's cut but that there's still a lot of extra material that we will get to see at some point.
