He's just a boring character. There's very little you can do with uber-powerful characters like that. Either they never face any challenges because they're so powerful, thus they stand in the background and look menacing... Or they go bad and have to be killed/locked in another dimension/exiled to space/whatever.

I agree somewhat with this assessment. The problem with Sentry, apart from the shoe-horning of his relevance and Bendis's shitty writing, is that he is just seen as another Superman analogue and there are so many Superman analogues in comicdom already. Besides, Sentry's role could have easily been filled by Hyperion or Gladiator who are also Marvel's Superman analogues. What I would have done with Sentry is either put him in an alternate universe or have him be a recent character that just appeared and was influenced by the Marvel heroes instead of the crap about him influencing them.

Believable perhaps. Likeable? Hell no.

Yes, because the real Cyclops is tied up in a basement while this Skrull imposter continues to besmirch his name-what's even worst is that the Skrull is better in the sack with Emma than the true Scott-chances are Emma will leave Scott for the Skrull when Cyclops finally escapes from the basement. :-D :-D :-D :-D

I don't know that. In fact, I hope that Scott is right about the Phoenix so that after Avengers vs. X-Men Scott and Emma can have a little time off and Scott doesn't have to have the weight of the mutant race on his shoulders for awhile.

Namor is more like the Wolverine to Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman's relationship. You can bet that if he were to get wind that those two were having a fight, he would drop any ideas about Emma in a heart beat.

Well actually, the Skrull imposter will steal Emma away from Scott as the real Cyclops is tied up in a basement. When he gets free, Emma will dump him for the Skrull as she is now turned by alien sex. Namor will then kill the Skrull and take Emma for his own and ask the Invisible Woman for a threesome. :-D :-D :-D :-D

I don't think he's a villain, but I think he's treading awfully close to that line.

I mean, his closest friends and allies have pretty much abandoned him and he surrounds himself with guys like Magneto. It doesn't exactly win him credibility points.

I can see that, but Wolverine calling someone else out when he does much worse is laughable.

I think Wolverine had a good point about how far Cyclops is taking things. I mean, who better to see that than a guy who's actually done some terrible shit himself. Wolverine didn't want to see the kids turn out like himself.

Now the question is, is what Cyclops is doing necessary to save the mutants? That's a more compelling debate that I think is really at the heart of this whole thing.

I agree with Melon and Tim. I'm in the middle of writing an article about Cyclops being the Marvel character who really has had the most character development in the last twenty years at least.

What I would LOVE to see is that the other X-Men discover that Emma has been spending years subtley manipulating Scott into the man he is at this moment. That would be a great twist and would finally put Emma back into the realm of villain where she has always belonged. Bonus points if it is discovered that she has been working privately with Magneto this whole time too.

If it was up to me, I'd say Cyclops has been having a nervous breakdown since Jean died and Emma has been telepathically helping him keep his shit together but she's losing her grip on him.

Now this is an example of good storytelling right here. I would even say that the Emma and Magneto are aware of the Skrull imposter having the true Cyclops locked away in a basement but are allowing him to continue his infiltration for their own benefit. :D :D :D :D :D :D

The Skrull imposter was the one who slept with Emma, I tell you! Not only is he ruining Cyclop's image, he also ruined his marriage-those damned Skrulls are so fricking evil, I tell you! :) :) :)
