Link is live now.

Unless I'm missing something, August will be the smallest month for me in years. :-D

Not me. Same crazy total as always nowadays. I'm blaming Image. Too many books at $3.50.

But in terms of trades this month, very little. Its really all just comics. Superman: Earth-One is the highest priced item of the month.

As usual, wait and see what DCBS discounts to see what the final total is.

Also, if you go to Midtown Comics, and check their Previews section. The solicits are already up with all the info.

Image is probably the only big publisher coming out with new stuff that I'm interested in. I'm for sure getting the Prophet trade, and from what I've heard Glory is supposed to be pretty excellent as well. Never thought I'd be buying trades for Liefeld properties. Both are only 9.99 too, which is a nice bargain.

Anybody read Manhattan Projects? I've generally liked Hickman's stuff but have only really been blown away by his stuff when he's also doing the art....

The stuff with his own art is definitely the best, but Pitarra is really good. He's got a heavy Geof Darrow vibe about his stuff...

I'm getting Prophet and Manhattan Projects for sure.

I'm on the fence w/ Glory. I'm way under budget so I have room for it, but I've fallen waaaaayyyyyy behind on my reading so I might pass and hope I can use that month to make up some ground on my read pile.

Here's my May cart. That Man-Thing Omnibus destroyed my budget. I had to get permission to exceed my $100 limit by $6.00 but since I've been such a good boy lately I got it...

CLASSIC GI JOE TP VOL 15
MAN-THING OMNIBUS HC DM VAR ED
BLOODSHOT (ONGOING) #1 PULLBOX SUAYAN CVR *Special Discount*
HARBINGER (ONGOING) #2 REG LOZZI CVR
X-O MANOWAR (ONGOING) #3 REG KEVIC-DJURDJEVIC CVR

Curse my love of the omnibus format! I left a bunch of stuff on the cutting room floor.

At least next month I can actually go back and buy some stuff I had to pass up in the past.

MOC has the new comics for August loaded. Yay!

The prices for all the TP/HC stuff is fucked up. Boo!

I really like Brandon Graham, but I am not paying $30 for that Prophet trade.

I'm sorely tempted to help (over) fund Dave Sim's Kickstarter for an audio version of Cerebus High Society (mostly to get some of the interesting awards you can garner for a semi-reasonable donation). http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/189 ... al-digital

If he was doing the art too, I would be sorely tempted even at that price!

IDW
JUN120391 LOCKE & KEY GRINDHOUSE ONE SHOT

Image
JUN120470 MANHATTAN PROJECTS TP VOL 01 SCIENCE BAD

DCBS is updated.

$450 and that's taking out every trade I'm going to get (all 3 of em, and not one of them is over $15).

Midas, you did see the bundle deal DCBS is doing for the Valiant books yes? LOL you must have, you said the total was only $39.

And yeah, I'm getting the Disney books through Amazon as well

I didn't see that. You just saved me $3. Thanks!

By the way, I really enjoyed the first issue of X-O. It was a little padded, but well-written and well-drawn. Looking forward to getting Aric into the present (but I'm guessing that won't happen before issue #3). I sure hope Valiant makes enough dough to stay in business. I've come to realize that the Valiant characters are probably my favorites.
