So, Demolition Man is the new Scourge. I've always like D-Man and I'm happy about this turn of events. I like Brubaker's writing and I'm confident that he's going to do right by the character. D-Man has always been an underrated sidekick of Captain America's in my opinion. I never really liked the street bum position he's been in for the last couple of decades. I have to say that I'm hoping that D-Man is finally going to be moved beyond that part of his history.

Big ditto.

I mentioned this in the preview thread:

I love how this scene mirrors that of the scene with Cap and Nick in the Avengers movie.

Also, love that Gyrich is involved.

Gyrich being involved isn't what I thought it would be. It's pretty clear that he's been brainwashed by Hydra. It wasn't made clear in this issue, so I'm wondering if D-Man has been brainwashed too, or if he's being tricked, and/or manipulated somehow by Gyrich.

I'm curious to see if Constrictor gets involved in the storyline, given his past with Diamondback and the fact Scourge seems to be going after snake themed villains.

With how he treated Jack Monroe, I can't share your optimism.

Honestly, I'd be okay with Brubaker putting D-man in his grave if it meant Bendis couldn't write him any longer.

Bru may have killed Jack Monroe, but the spotlight issue he did for the character was tremendous. One of the best of his entire run on Captain America.
