true but this could be some good time to get away and do stuff with his band anyway, even though i thought he was going to feud with Randy

All the more ironic since what O***n did to his country was worse.

Random Smackdown thoughts:

Even though I'm tiring of the squash matches, I liked the finish to the Ryback match.

Santino/ Ricardo may have been a silly match, but it's probably my favorite match of the show.

As much as I like Titus O'Neil and Darren Young, I wish the Usos would catch a break.

I love how Eve handled Sheamus.

Currently watching a documentary from 2010 called "Card Subject To Change" about the indy scene. It's a streaming video in here:
http://www.theage.com.au/tv/Documentary ... 52844.html

It's no beyond the mat and seems horribly edited and directed at times but it might be worth a look to wrestling fans.

It's on Netflix as well, watched it one day and it wasn't very good.

Day 1 of New Japan's Best of the Super Jr tournament went on today:

http://www.puroresufan.com/njpw/?p=3600

NJPW, 5/27/12 (Asahi Newstar)
Tokyo Korakuen Hall
1,950 Fans – Super No Vacancy

1. Best of the Super Jr. – Block A: BUSHI [2] beat Rocky Romero [0] (5:23) with the Bushi Roll.
2. Best of the Super Jr. – Block B: Daisuke Sasaki [2] beat Jado [0] (8:57) with a Sasaki-style huracanrana.
3. Best of the Super Jr. – Block B: Alex Kozlov [2] beat TAKA Michinoku [0] (8:22) with the Russian Strike.
4. Best of the Super Jr. – Block B: Brian Kendrick [2] beat Tiger Mask IV [0] (6:34) with the Sliced Bread #2.
5. Kazuchika Okada, Shinsuke Nakamura, YOSHI-HASHI & Tomohiro Ishii beat Hiroshi Tanahashi, Hirooki Goto, Tetsuya Naito & Tama Tonga (15:51) when Okada used the Rainmaker on Tonga.
6. Best of the Super Jr. – Block A: Angel de Oro [2] beat Taichi [0] (9:28) with the Arras de Oro.
7. Best of the Super Jr. – Block A: PAC [2] beat Jushin Thunder Liger [0] (10:20) with a 360 Shooting Star Press.
8. Best of the Super Jr. – Block B: Low Ki [2] beat Ryusuke Taguchi [0] (14:10) with a diving footstomp.
9. Best of the Super Jr. – Block A: KUSHIDA [2] beat Prince Devitt [0] (12:56) with the Midnight Express.

* Big wins for all of the special guests on day one of the Super Jr. as PAC, de Oro, Kendrick, Kozlov, Sasaki, and BUSHI record wins over familiar names. But the big surprise saw KUSHIDA pin long standing junior ace Prince Devitt in the main event to kick off his campaign with a huge victory.

KUSHIDA beating Devitt really surprised me. Other then him and BUSHI it was a bad start for the rest of the tournament's New Japan regulars with Tiger Mask IV, Taichi, Jushin Liger and Ryusuke Taguchi all losing.

Day 147 (yesterday).

I finished disc one of the Bryan Danielson-comp. The match was: TED DIBIASE JR.~! & Bryan Danielson & Joe Legend vs. KENTA & Akitoshi Saito & Ippei Ota. Joe Legend is the former "Just Joe" of WWE and he looks huge. This match is all kinds of fun with great action from all involved. Saito and Joe do something big-man stuff, trading shoulderblocks. KENTA and Danielson pick up the pace. Ota, bless him, gets a pretty bloody nose via Legend. The only complaint is the anticlimactic finish, Legend pinning Ota with a Complete Shot (after Ota kicked out of everything else in the world). Really interesting to not only see Ted in NOAH, but also for him to completely hold his own. The crowd LOVED his fist drops.

Match of the Day goes to Ted DiBiase Jr. & Bryan Danielson & Joe Legend vs. KENTA & Akitoshi Saito & Ippei Ota, of course

I haven't seen many matches with Dibiase Jr over in Japan, but from what I've seen, yeah, he was way over with the crowds.

Day 148.

I watched SmackDown! today. The opening segment was a drag and completely uninteresting.

Hunico vs. Christian was a fun spot-match designed to continue the establishment of Christian as a face. It's kind of weird that he's a face now, but at the same time he's so good he can do either role. Still, it does make one miss the days when a guy was a face or a heel for a long period of time. Hunico did an exceptional job in his role here, to boot.

The tag match was nothing. Ryback's squash was fun for several reasons. I loved him using his finisher on both jobbers. Plus, one of them was former ROH World Tag Team Champion RICKY REYES~!

Santino vs. Ricardo was an awesome comedy match. I wouldn't mind seeing those two, mixed with Delirious and Colt Cabana, in any number of combinations. This was the quintessential way of how to make a comedy match work.

Sheamus vs. Jack Swagger was a phenomenal match. The only thing I didn't like was Sheamus winning with the Brogue Kick despite Swagger putting so much effort into working the leg. The man has one billion finishers, he should have used something else. That aside, the match was an excellent display from both men.

Sandow's match was perfectly fine for what it was. The Big Show segment dragged, but it's worth pointing out just how great he is on the mic now compared to two-three years ago, let alone a decade ago.

The main event was serviceable. The opening spot with Danielson was great stuff, although the flip-side of that is Kane has already been reduced back to what he was pre-mask. The match itself was bit all over the place, honestly. Glad Del Rio won and I like that they're teasing Sheamus/Orton. Can't wait to see that one when it happens.

Match of the Day goes to Sheamus vs. Jack Swagger.

Day two of New Japan's Best of the Super Jr tournament went today:

http://www.puroresufan.com/njpw/?p=3604

NJPW, 5/28/12
Chiba Port Arena Sub Arena
600 Fans

1. Best of the Super Jr. – Block B: Alex Kozlov [4] beat Hiromu Takahashi [0] (6:43) with the Russian Strike.
2. Best of the Super Jr. – Block A: KUSHIDA [4] beat BUSHI [2] (10:51) with the Midnight Express.
3. Best of the Super Jr. – Block B: Low Ki [4] beat Daisuke Sasaki [2] (8:03) with the Dragon clutch.
4. Toru Yano, Takashi Iizuka & Tomohiro Ishii beat Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima & Captain New Japan (12:21) when Yano used the Akakiri on Captain.
5. Best of the Super Jr. – Block A: Gedo [2] beat Jushin Thunder Liger [0] (7:43) by pinfall.
6. Best of the Super Jr. – Block B: TAKA Michinoku [2] beat Brian Kendrick [2] (10:51) with the Heavy Killer.
7. Best of the Super Jr. – Block A: Taichi [2] beat Prince Devitt [0] (10:59) with a Taichi-style Gedo clutch.
8. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Hirooki Goto & Tetsuya Naito beat Kazuchika Okada, Shinsuke Nakamura & YOSHI-HASHI (19:12) when Naito used a Stardust press on YOSHI-HASHI.

* Two upset defeats in a row for Devitt to start the tournament, a bad start for the man who has dominated the junior division in the last few years.

-

Block A:
1. KUSHIDA [4]
2. Gedo [2]
- Taichi [2]
- BUSHI [2]
- PAC [2]
- Angel de Oro [2]
7. Prince Devitt [0]
- Jushin Thunder Liger [0]
- Rocky Romero [0]

Block B:
1. Low Ki [4]
- Alex Kozlov [4]
3. TAKA Michinoku [2]
- Daisuke Sasaki [2]
- Brian Kendrick [2]
6. Tiger Mask [0]
- Ryusuke Taguchi
- Hiromu Takahashi [0]
- Jado [0]

I'm surprised to see Devitt off to such a slow start. Kow Ki leading his block is not a shock though. It's interesting to see KUSHIDA off to a good start. The same can be said for Kozlov, I wasn't sure if New Japan had brought him in to do well or not.

Just got home from work, eating dinner and watching RAW with Connor.

Big Shows opening promo was good but it drug on just a little to long.

Santino vs Del Rio was pretty much a joke as Del Rio just made quick work of Santino, as it should be.

Good tag team match between Kingston/Truth vs Swagger/Ziggler, seeing the champs retain.

They are teasing Ziggler breaking away from Vickie and Swagger yet again, I hope they actually follow through with it this time and Dolph gets a run as a tweener/face kinda like Edge used to do.

Brodus Clay confronting Big Show backstage was awesome! I would love to see these guys feud with one another, I think it would be great.
