Could this be an unofficial official confirmation of the Zero Issues DC is rumored to be putting out in September?

The Outhouse's own guitarsmashley was on hand at the Phoenix Comic Con this weekend, and he has confirmed the long-standing rumor that DC will be running "zero issues" for a bunch of their titles in September. Allegedly, the issues will feature origin stories that will fill in some of the blanks about the characters that were rebooted last year in DC's nuDCU. The rumor was originally reported by tabloid journalist and alleged sex pervert Rich Johnston over at Bleeding Cool, but guitarsmashley is claiming a spiritual victory by "scooping" Johnston in the confirmation, and is quoted as saying "nyah nyah nyah nyah." More on this story as it develops.

The DCnU's history and continuity has gotten too cluttered and confusing. It has also become too difficult to tell a new reader where they should begin at. They should just relaunch their entire line with all new #1's while selectively rebooting the continuity of some books and leaving other books alone. This could make DC more accessible to new readers but will probably alienate long-time fans with unlikeable versions of DCnU characters.

Zero issues are not going to save the large chunk of dc titles selling like crap.

Nope, it was a fresh post from this morning. I was just being a little extra facetious. :-D

And I agree with you. Plastering a #0 on the cover and telling more origin stories isn't going to save the mess that they have made.

Ugh here we go again. They already did this years ago. The difference is that those stories were, mostly, good.

Because after like 9 months we got like 3 good stories. The odds are against it with the current people at the helm.

I expect shit stories in most titles and good stories in a handful, just like we get every month from DC (and Marvel). Some titles may surprise us but after a year we know what is good from DC and what isn't.

This. I expect that books like Animal Man, Aquaman, Batman, and Swamp Thing will have strong Zero Issue showings while books like Justice League, Teen Titans, and the majority of DC's other titles will continue to stink up the new 52.

An origin issue of Teen Titans isn't going to make me like Wonder Girl's Witchblade-esque conversion anymore than the previous 9 books of the title that I have read and the same can probably be said about most of the other characters and books.
