Comics are fun.

The Review Group should be fun too.

Does this have Amy Pond? This had better have Amy Pond.

Star Trek TNG/Doctor Who: Assimilation #1
Scott & David Tipton with Tony Lee (w)
J.K. Woodward (a)
They said it would never happen! Nearly five decades and 1500 episodes in the making! The two greatest science-fiction properties of all time cross over for the first time in history, in STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION/DOCTOR WHO: ASSIMILATION! When the Federation's most terrifying enemy strikes an unholy alliance with one of the Doctor's most hated antagonists, the result is devastation on a cosmic scale! Spanning the ends of space and time itself, Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the USS Enterprise find themselves joining forces with the Doctor and his companions, with the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance! Written by Scott and David Tipton, the authors of the critically acclaimed Star Trek: Infestaion, and featuring the beautiful painted artwork of J.K. Woodward (Fallen Angel), this is the adventure that both Trekkers and Whovians have waited for all their lives! Geronimo? Make it so!

Review as often or as little as you like. Once you've posted 5 reviews, you will be awarded 1 pick. You can post 5 reviews, right? That's a totally achievable goal and with day and date digital releases becoming the standard, it shouldn't matter if your shop ordered enough copies of this weeks comic or not.

When multiple Review Groupers have posted 5 (or more) qualifying reviews, they will be awarded their pick in the order that they qualified. What constitutes a qualifying review? Any review posted (with a score on a scale from 0-10, that's right 0!) within 1 calendar month of the thread going live. Reviews posted while waiting in line for your pick will be applied to your next pick.

I'll be keeping track of everyone's progress with the newly christened Spreadsheet of Fantastic (RIP, Spreadsheet of Doom) and reporting the results in the Current Members list in the weekly OP. When it's your turn to make a pick, I will PM you. If you do not respond to me by Midnight EST the following Sunday, you will lose your pick and I will start a poll to determine that week's selection.

Any week in which we do not have a Review Grouper with 5 qualifying picks, we will determine the week's comic via poll.

If it's your week to pick, remember to keep it under $3.99.

Naturally, this new system is new and it may be necessary to make changes as we go.

Well, I know that I definitely have this book waiting for me, so I may try writing my first ever review for the review group later.

Ha! Next week is the start of Before Watchmen and it's my pick, I'll give you three guesses what it's going to be. First person to get it right gets a bonus point on their review tally. Check back Friday to see what we'll be reading next week.

I liked it. The artwork is very nice and it's 95% Doctor Who, 5% Star Trek: TNG.

Spoiler alert: They are on the holodeck as usual.

Regarding your spoiler: Yeah, that is what I thought as well.

And what was disappointing was there was not an even balance of the two shows, especially for a first issue to get everyone introduced.

i do not know I would have liked it if they'd stepped out on the bridge of the Enterprise from the Tardis.
