Is the Tardis not the same as the Holodeck to a degree? Sorry I've only watched 1 episode of Doctor Who, 11th Hour, but I have all of season 5 and 6 on Blu-Ray and I read the current IDW comic of the 11th Doctor which I love.

How so? One's a time and space machine, the other's a room that allows you to play and goof off.

Yes, that's right--they are both bigger than a bread-box.

Nice catch, BK!

The holodeck uses holograms to create the illusion of space.

The Tardis, through some timey wimey bending of physics, is in fact bigger on the inside. It is not an illusion.

I'll be honest, as much as I love the Doctor, I've never really been able to get into his comics. They always feel like a cheap imitation and the stories are almost always lacking.

However, I've loved the Star Trek extended universe almost as much as I love the TV show. I read hundreds of the books as a kid and ever still have a few floating around the house somewhere.

So, the mix of the two is a bit rough, as is expected. The Borg/Cybermen team up is a fantastic concept and I can't wait to see what happens with it. However, the Doctor scenes were shaky, too often did the art rely on photoreferences from episodes that I've seen before, and the Egyptian sequence was entirely unnecessary. I did like the little twist at the end and the Stardate was a nice little touch (putting the adventure right before the Bozeman episode which is the very definition of a timey wimey episode).

All in all, if you're a fan of both series, you'll probably enjoy it, otherwise it's licensed fluff.

I've never seen one episode of Doctor Who. Any idea if this would be a good intro?

Probably not. If you're going to read the comic, you need to at least get the voice of Matt Smith in your head.

This should do.

just when I was getting ready to give up and actually watch Dr. Who on netflix I read this comic and thank jebus. What a piece of shit. From very stagnant water color...crayon art to the story that started in the middle...twice. I hate you squid and I hope you have the worst diarrhea of your life this week...all week.
