So if he were on the X-men for whatever reason, you'd be on that side?
To answer your question I will quote Dragavons response because he made it clear as to why I would still side with the Avengers even if Thor were for to some reason be on the X-Men's side.
Don't know. Several things are a factor here. One is obviously Cap and Spidey.
The second one is I honestly believe Cyclops has become a villain. It's not that his team has Magneto on it. It's not that his team has Namor on it. It's not that his team has Juggernaut on it. It's the fact that all these villains are on there together. The only non-villain on that team is Storm.
Another fact is that Cyclop's plan is stupid. He's just hoping that Hope can hold it together long enough to fix the problem caused by the Scarlet Witch. Cap's plan is marginally more sensible of getting Hope off planet so the Phoenix will follow.
Another fact is yes Cyclops was told about the future by Cable, that the Avengers were wrong. Aside from the fact that Cable has a history of fucking up the future and not fixing it, that story is written by Loeb so obviously it's stupid.
Another is that I don't like Cable. He's an unnecessarily complicated character created by Liefeld and made worse by subsequent writers. The only one who could make him tolerable was Nicieza.
Really if all these factors didn't exist and then Cap and Spidey were on Cyclop's side, I'd probably side with the X-Men because there's something about the concept of them fighting for the people who hate them is inherently noble.
But given all that has actually happened, there's no way I can support the X-Men in the sheer stupidity of hoping the Phoenix solves the mutant birth problem and doesn't cause some major problem
Of course what I think will happen will be Hope will get the Phoenix, say "No More Avengers', we will temporarily see a universe truly fucked because there are no Avengers, the X-Men will reluctantly fix the problem causing the world to revert back to normal and then Hope and the Phoenix will go off into the cosmos with a dozen mutant births happening at that very moment.
Like he said if Thor, Spidey, or Cap were to join the X-Men's side I think it would be a completely set of circumstances and not just Cyclop's insane beliefs at the moment. There would be more of a sense of nobility about the whole thing. I don't get that right now from Cyclops, I just get the "I'm being a douche that doesn't won't to listen to reason from anyone" vibe from him right now.
