It’s the last issue of Thunderbolts as we know it, and it goes out not with a bang, but with an interesting ending for Fixer. After killing himself last time, he has to take the place of his past self, losing his memory, putting himself in an eternal temporal loop. It’s a disturbing, brilliant idea and one that provides a pretty tragic ‘death’ for a mainstay Tbolt. I seem to remember seeing a similar idea to this somewhere else, was it in Doctor Who? Probably, but I liked it here anyways. I was surprised that this issue didn’t end with the team back in the present, it looks like Dark Avengers will focus on that team in the present and the Thunderbolts getting back, and then they have to fight or something. I look forward to it, because it’s basically the same book, and hopefully putting the Avengers name on it will improve sales, but to me, these characters will always be the Thunderbolts, and this meeting between the originals and the current team was a great way for this version to end.
