Question about Comixology

Postby Keb » Tue Jun 05, 2012 12:08 pm

I downloaded the app and started browsing around. I downloaded a free issue of Walking Dead or something just to try the app. Do I have to read everything using their app's reader or can I download the comic files and read them with another reader like Comicrack or ACV?

Apparently so. I just tried one on the computer and it made me read through their site's reader.

This shit sucks ass.

This battle was won with mp3s but video and book and comic companies are still hanging onto the restrictive DRM model, or more sinister, the cloud based subscription service model where you pay a monthly fee and never own any content. Avoid stuff like spotify and netflix, or this will be the way everything is done in the future. Companies will control what is available for you to watch, read or listen to at any given time and you will pay for the privilege of using it, not to actually own a copy.

Anyone else have problems with their Pull Lists ? I linked my Profile to my LCS back in December but they only randomly get my Pull List. Sometimes my LCS only gets a partial Pull List, so they usually have to view my Pull List on Comixology's site to see what I want pulled for that Wednesday.

Has anyone used Dark Horse's app yet? They seemed like they were going to be a step ahead of comixology on a lot of things. I had high hopes until Apple squashed the 1.49 price point.

I was going to buy some Sin City ebooks from Kobo's store but I think I'd rather just buy the actual book at this point.

Besides I hate Sin City.
