Will Matthew Vaughn adapt the classic Days of Future Past storyline for the next X-Men Movie?
It is being reported that Twentieth Century Fox has registered Days of Future Past as a title with the Motion Picture Association of America, an organization that handles movie ratings, titles, and trying to shut down the internet to prevent movie piracy. Days of Future Past, of course, is a classic 1981 X-Men story written by Chris Claremont that sees a future timeline where mutants are kept in internment camps. Unlike the current Avengers vs. X-Men storyline, however, it is not Captain America that wants to put them there. The storyline also features a version of Wolverine that is not a douchebag. The movie is due out on July 18, 2014.

See I just read this on another site (can't remember for the life of me what site) and they were implying that it wasn't for First Class 2, but for the long talked about X-Men 4.

It's either for X-Men 4, or for nothing and just one of those things where they want to reserve it just in case. Happens all the time.

What if the X-Men stop the Brotherhood from assassinating JFK and cause a DOFP style future to happen, and have to decide if it's better or worse to allow JFK to die?
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.

I just wet my pants. If this is true then my favorite X-story of all times is going to the big screen.
I know that I'll probably be disapointed if I get to hyped up, but... Days of a future past, how can one not be excited about this?
Also, can't wait to see hoe they handle the time travel part of it.

AICN thinks it's for First Class 2, and that it will allow them to include X-Men franchise characters with First Class characters because of the future setting.
Anything about it is all speculation though, as like the Queen said, it's just the name.

Obviously, you're some skinny, single nerd living on the East Coast who probably derives value in life from wrestling matches, hoping that Wolverine gets to sleep with teenagers and engaging in casual drug use. You're literally the worst thing to happen to comics since Stan Lee.

"Days OF Future Past" future was 2013 so that's kind of cool to use it now, and like Jude said, it's a perfect segue between the First Class and current teams.
And a great way to un-do the crap Ratner did to them in X-Men 3

There was no X-Men 3? The only movies staring X-Men and Wolverine were X-Men, X2 and then years later X-Men: First Class.

I think if they are going this route that the story is in very capable hands, if everyone from First Class is still involved that is, and this will be the sequel to that. I mean how cool would it be to see whoever Xavier has on his team in the 70's lets say time travel to 2014 to team up with an older group of X-Men including Wolverine to fight against a bunch of giant ass Sentinels!! This could be epic!!!

Guess they're going the AoA setup if it'll be a First Class movie.
