DC is reportedly moving forward again with a Justice League movie, and it's totally not because of The Avengers.
Variety reports that Will Beall is writing a script for the upcoming Justice League movie, and DC stresses that they were totally planning this before The Avengers became a hit. Beall was hired to write the script long before The Avengers hit theaters, so how could it be because of that? What? No, he hasn't actually written a script yet, don't be ridiculous, but really, they swear The Avengers is not a factor at all. Well, okay, maybe it was in
anticipation of the Avengers, but definitely not a
reaction to it. Alright, it's totally because of The Avengers.
The last attempt at a Justice League movie was cancelled in 2008 due to "tax reasons" and "the writers strike." With Christopher Nolan wrapping up his Dark Knight trilogy with The Dark Knight Rises, and the Green Lantern movie being an abysmal failure because it was not grim and gritty and took place in space, it is unknown whether DC will reboot their entire movie universe, nor whether any of the characters will be gay.
