I made falafel tonight.

It was easy and awesome. I made them into patties instead of balls because I didn't want to deep fry. So good, I also made a jalapeño tzatziki to go with it...yeah, I'm pretty awesome.

Mmmm. I wish I could make those here. The guys would hold a mutiny and demand it be stuffed between two burgers.

My wife recently started making falafel and she said it's super easy, and it's really good.

I'd be interested in your jalapeño tzatziki, if you wouldn't mind sharing that is.

easy tzatziki = shredded cucumbers and minced garlic (a lot of it if you like garlic) and some salt in greek yogurt or sour cream. My mom throws green chilis in it and it gives me the runs.

I made Houman felafels once.

Shred a cucumber( I use hot house/english) with a cheese grater
put it in a bowl and salt it. Leave it for 15-30 minutes.
drain as much of the water from the cucumber as possible.
Mix it with greek yogurt.(I didn't measure amount just by taste and feel)
Shred a jalapeño the same way you did the cucumber but don't salt.
chifonade some mint leaves.
I didn't have any dill but I would have added finely chopped dill here.
I also forgot garlic but the pepper was enough
The juice of a lemon wedge

salt to taste and refrigerate for as long as possible before eating.

I know I was more concerned with how my falafel would turn out and was just rushing things.
