Pacquiao vs Bradley, anyone else see this?

Postby fieldy snuts » Sun Jun 10, 2012 1:40 am

Bradley got the win due to 2/3 judges giving it to him on points....but all Bradley did is take beatings every round. I mean, Bradley got completely destroyed in every category. Pacquiao had 94 more punches and 15% more punches landed....and Bradley still somehow won via a split decision.

This somehow makes the Marquez decision look fair in comparison. It's like the WWE has taken over boxing.

The fight was pretty clearly rigged. It's already been noted that there was a huge spike in bets on Bradley just before the fight ...

Yeah, there really seems like something weird was going on. If you watched on HBO, it's like the announcers were preparing people for the decision throughout the fight. They even said Bradley could have won rounds wherein he was clearly rocked by Pacquiao.

Arum runs both guys and he will clean up in the rematch, but this doesn't help boxing at all.

I mean sure, Pacquiao hit him more times.
And sure he had a higher hit percentage.
And Pacquiao never seemed affected by Bradley's punches.
And Bradley definitely got rocked a couple times.
Sorry, I forgot where I was going with that...

I have always hated Bob Arum and I will never watch one of his promoted fights again. He is also the reason that Manny has never fought Mayweather.

This is why MMA is becoming more popular than Boxing.

just watched this fight, it was a pretty lame fight and yeah I can't even remotely understand how Manny didn't win this fight.

As well as UFC is doing, Boxing still makes way more money and has better ratings and PPV buys. Plus, Brock Lesnar is the UFCs biggest PPV draw and he isn't fighting at the moment.

Thinking about this and I can't help but shake the feeling that if this was indeed a fix, that Manny was in on it all the way. That would be very disappointing, but I can't figure why he let up in the final 4 rounds, and he really did.

He lost the 10th round for sure, but I didn't see another round he lost. I rewatched the fight this morning and I am still shocked. The reactions from Jim Lampley and Emanuel Steward were great though.

I haven't rewatched the fight, but it seemed like he really took it easy after the 8th-9th. He didn't seem to attack the way he did against Cotto, for example.

Seeing as how the rematch is going to net everyone a ton of money, I can't help but feel all of the Arum guys were in on this.

Most of the media outlets covering the fight (ESPN, HBO, The Associated Press, etc.) scored the fight for Pacquiao by a wide margin, with most giving Bradley only one or two rounds. I think I saw 119-110 for ESPN, 117-110 for HBO, etc.

EDIT: Here are the figures and their sources.

"ESPN.com had it 119-109 for Pacquiao. HBO's unofficial judge, Harold Lederman, also had it 119-109 for Pacquiao, meaning he gave Bradley only one round. Most ringside media also scored it clearly for Pacquiao."

"The Associated Press had Pacquiao winning 117-111."
