Tonka... Why?

Postby sdsichero » Mon Jun 11, 2012 9:23 pm

Another winner (and more to come) from Hasbro...

Hasbro and Sony Team for Tonka Trucks Movie

Yep, it's happening. Sony Pictures Animation and Adam Sandler's Happy Madison Productions will soon be adapting Hasbro's Tonka brand toys for the big screen.

According to the announcement, the film will be shot as a motion-capture animated feature, with a script from Fred Wolf (Grown Ups, Joe Dirt). The new project further solidifies ties between Sony and Hasbro, which are also producing adaptations of Hasbro's Risk and Candy Land boardgames. (Candy Land is also a Happy Madison project.)

Well, Adam Sandler fans do have the mentality of a 3 year old.

I hate Sandler.

Hence I have the mentality of at least a 4 year old.

Well, I'm guessing a comedy is considered a different world. Lower budget and so on...

There's no story to Tonka trucks. At least the games have a conflict around which a plot can be built. This is like saying "I saw this great chair...I'm gonna turn it into a movie!"

Well, I won't see it but as far as the movie goes for Hasbro, better Sony than Paramount.
