AvX Infinite #6: Was the Phoenix story retconned?

Postby alaska1125 » Wed Jun 20, 2012 10:18 pm

Seriously, does no one remember the whole "Phoenix took Jean Grey's form and placed the real one in a cocoon under Jamaca Bay"?

I did Wiki this, but didn't see anything that indicated a recon. Did Morrison do it? It just seems like they're ignoring that plot point.

Silly Alaska, thinking a story has to be retconned for modern writers to ignore it.

Who cares... that itself was a retcon. So retconning a retcon is fine by me. It was better before they decided they wanted to bring Jean back and retconned her character destruction by saying "It's ok, it wasn't really her!"

Ha...ok, my bad. I guess all the haters can let Busiek off the hook now since it apparently never happened.

Eh, I obviously cared enough to ask the question??? It wasn't good, necessarily, but it kinda drives me a little crazy when "they" just decide to ignore major character developments (er, if that's what you'd call it).

It's easy to forget because the Phoenix force left a piece of itself in Jean. Not excusable, though.
However, Liefeld is an enigma wrapped in a pouch-filled, muscular, footless conundrum.

Fuck the Avengers. They're assholes.

I hope so because that's an incredibly stupid story.
